Last month the FBI ran 2,145,865 checks through the National Instant Background Check System. It was the largest background checks of any April on record. It was also the 12th month in a row to achieve a high water mark for gun sales, according to the agency’s records. Though the numbers represent the best April on record, the month also saw the fewest checks of any month thus far in 2016.

Man finds ashes, memorable message in bottle on Cape Breton beach
Norman MacDonald was walking along West Mabou Beach, on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island, when he stumbled upon the tequila bottle.
“I thought it was sand from another beach (inside the bottle), so I was gonna toss it,” says MacDonald.
He's glad he didn't, because what he discovered was actually a man’s ashes, a hand-written note about the man, penned by his daughter, and $25.
