Most of us were likely to be able to spend some time with friends and relatives this weekend. Its what we do when there’s a long weekend. And yet, Millions of Americans view this weekend the same way, a convenient break at the end of May, as the school year ends and the summer season is about to kick off.
On Memorial Day, we honor those who have fallen in the service of protecting our nation. Across the country, memorials and cemeteries remind us of the extraordinary sacrifices that have been made to keep this country united and free.
Its never been perfect on the united part, and there is a lot of work we must do to make things better for everyone.
Freedom on the other hand, is something that should never be up for negotiations.
