American Gun Ownership: The Positive Impacts of Law-Abiding Citizens Owning Firearms
At a time when gun control advocates appear intent on painting lawful gun ownership as a danger to society, and the Second Amendment as little more than an outdated protection of a person’s right to hunt, it’s important to remember the regular role armed citizens play in defending inalienable rights.

Far too often, those who disagree with supporters of the Second Amendment and firearm-related policies resort to assertions that we simply care more about our guns than about the lives of innocent people, and that the right to keep and bear arms has little beneficial purpose in modern America.

This makes it all the more important that we continue to emphasize the important role lawful gun owners play in the immediate and regular defense against crime.

As these stories from last month will show you, the first line of defense against crime is by those who are prepared when a crime occurs. We now see firsthand that Police officers will not always be there when you need them. They respond to calls of those who are already in peril, or to a crime scene after the offense has occurred. So once again, we have some examples from last month of people with guns that did not want to become the victim of a crime.

 Back From Vacation
“It’s always nice to get away for a week, clear your head and come back invigorated for the upcoming challenges. This time I even allowed myself a few days to get back into the swing of things so as not to jump right back into a hectic schedule.

After having been on vacation last week, I'm sure there are many people who have come home from the same experience feeling…bummed out. I find myself thinking, I just got back home from vacation and I feel no happiness at the thought of jumping back in the seat and starting to play the delivery guy role again next week.

It’s inevitable that the transition back to reality after a week-long adventure in vacation mode wont be easy. No longer having control over my routine, be it sleeping or waking up, or to the spontaneity and freedoms of living in the moment.

Yes I'm rested, my batteries are recharged, and I’m ready to go back to the daily grind  with a newfound disgust for some of those one way pieces of shit that I will have to deal with next week. But to the rest of you,  Have a nice day.

My bags are packed and later today, it’s time to make the annual road trip to the big woods of the Northeast Kingdom and camp. The deer season starts tomorrow in Vermont and the pilgrimage is eagerly anticipated.

With the quarantines and travel issues due to covid last fall, it was the first time that last year's camp adventures during the deer season, never saw a visitor.

There have been many decades of stories and laughter, from those who have hunted from this special place in the Northeast Kingdom.
Good food, good friends, adventures and memories. That’s what camp is really about.

Effective immediately, the posts here will be non-existent this week.
Sorry Friends....no internet or cell service.
