Cancer now beats Heart Disease as top cause of Death in 22 U.S. States

A new report out from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says cancer is now the leading cause of death in most of New England, surpassing heart disease.

The High Cost of Prescription Drugs in the United States:

In what can only be described as a "No Brainer" research study on current drug prices, the Journal of the American Medical Association last week has officially recognized why drug prices have skyrocketed in America.

The new report that was
published on August 23, “The High Cost of Prescription Drugs in the United States set out to “review the origins and effects of high drug prices in the US market and to consider policy options that could contain the cost of prescription drugs.” The study admits Drug Prices are high because the Government has given big Pharma A Monopoly.
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Per capita prescription drug spending in the United States exceeds that in all other countries, largely driven by brand-name drug prices that have been increasing in recent years at rates far beyond the consumer price index. In 2013, per capita spending on prescription drugs was $858 compared with an average of $400 for 19 other industrialized nations. In the United States, prescription medications now comprise an estimated 17% of overall personal health care services. The most important factor that allows manufacturers to set high drug prices is market exclusivity, protected by monopoly rights awarded upon Food and Drug Administration approval and by patents.

Police Dash Cam shows an officer questioning a 23-year-old suspect for OUI. The driver was half-naked and during much of the encounter. When the suspect, Samantha Alfaro later called for a ride home from the police station, the story took another strange twist. Jocelyn Reardon came to her rescue but was stopped for DUI 200 yards from the police station.
When she was pulled over on her way to pick up Alfaro, Reardon was also wearing just a tee-shirt and little else. You guessed it,
she was also charged with OUI.

Hillary Clinton’s top campaign aide and the woman who might be the future White House chief of staff to the first female US president, for a decade edited a radical Muslim publication that opposed women’s rights and

Wahlburgers
The Boston-based restaurant chain owned by brothers Donnie, Paul, and, Mark Wahlberg—may look good on the TV show with its working class ethics, but some employees are crying foul, claiming the brand doesn't put its money where its mouth is. Employees of Wahlburgers filed a class action lawsuit against the restaurant chain on Thursday, accusing its Coney Island location of cheating them since opening in 2015.
The suit names Wahlburgers Franchising LLC and three people, including restaurateur/franchise owner John Cestare,  maintained a pattern and practice of regularly shaving compensable time from the weekly hours of all its non-exempt employees, and paying them for significantly fewer hours than they actually worked. Employees have also charged the restaurant with skimming tips and ignoring requirements established by the
Fair Labor Standards Act.

A Natural Cure for Lyme Disease?

Every year, at least 30,000 people — and possibly 10 times that — are infected with the bacterium that causes Lyme disease, most in the Northeast and upper Midwest. Symptoms can include fatigue, joint pain, memory problems and even temporary paralysis. In a small minority of cases, the malaise can persist for many months.

It sounds good except for the fact that its possible that the solution suggested is already here in parts of New England in small numbers.
