We have been enjoying pancakes for breakfast every Sunday for the last couple of months. Maybe it has something to do with being smothered in Butter and Maple Syrup, with a few Blueberries mixed in. They just go so well with all those Sunday Snowstorms that are also being served up every week as well. A hearty breakfast, then go out and shovel the snow.

This week it looks like some moisture will again be falling from the sky. I just hope its all rain for a change. The recipe for this weeks pancakes is also going to change a little.  This one looks real good and will be enjoyed for the Sunday’s special.   With Blueberries of course.

Recent research has given us another good reason to drink some brew.....more

Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing."

To know the value of generosity, it is necessary to have suffered from the cold indifference of others."

The MBTA has been struggling to restore service after a massive amount of snow fell on the state, beginning with the blizzard in late January. Beverly Scott, MBTA general manager, said “tremendous progress” had been made in an “absolutely unbelievable recovery” effort. She also said that the commuter rail system is “still having challenges,” operating at a little over 60 percent. Scott said the MBTA woes this winter had sounded several “wakeup calls,” and that the system needs more investment. A look back at our recent public transit woes, due to an unusually harsh winter.  more

Connecticut native Joey Logano, driver of the #22 Shell Pennzoil Ford won his first career Daytona 500 on Sunday. The Team Penske driver led 31 laps and took the lead for good on Lap 191. Logano wasn't among the favorites coming in to the 2015 Nascar Season opener; the Hendricks cars dominated the race for most of the day. But as the laps counted down, he showed that he could hang with the big boys. By the end, they were left chasing him and never caught up. He now Joins Pete Hamilton, a native from Dedham, Massachusetts, who drove that iconic winged Plymouth for Petty Enterprises in 1970 to become the second New Englander to win the Great American Race.

                                 Have a great Adventure

Due to unprecedented snowfall, the MBTA has stressed that riders should prepare for long waits and subsequent crowding until the end of the month of February. Though Boston's collective frustration seems to be approaching an all time high, T riders at Park Street Station are being urged to look on the bright side.

After the Brawl this week at  Maverick station in East Boston, I suggest that going there to pass out the Optimism Tickets would be a much needed place to share a little of that Goodwill.
