Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be addressing Congress today. Netanyahu is here to express Israel’s concerns about the threat of Iran’s nuclear program and the threat that it poses to Israel. The Prime Minister plans to deliver one of the most controversial speeches to a joint session of Congress by a foreign leader ever. Netanyahu comes to Washington to talk about stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

There is no doubt about Iran's intent with nuclear weapons. Israel has long been the target of Iranian threats and violence. But Iran has also been making promises in the past to mobilize Islamic forces against the US, the UK and other American allies as well. Attacks directed and supported by Iran have killed an estimated 1,100 American troops in Iraq in recent years. This after the same Iran that last week on February 25th performed a Naval Drill to blow up a mock U.S. aircraft carrier near the entrance of the Persian Gulf. It was a full-size replica of the USS Nimitz. Iranian Rear Adm. Ali Fadavi, commander of the Iranian naval forces said, let it be known that “We have the most advanced sea mines which cannot be imagined by the Americans.” Iran is one of the world's leading state sponsors of terrorism through its financial and operational support for groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and others.

Israel has repeatedly warned the West against making concessions to Iran over its nuclear program and opposes a role for Iran in the international effort to defeat Islamic State. The negotiations between the US and Iran on Nuclear Weapons-Power have been ongoing and the next deadline for a deal is March 24th. Any deal with Iran will be a bad deal for Israel which has been in the crosshairs of the Iranians since they came to power in 1979.

For six years, President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been on a collision course over how to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions. Now we have Bi-partisan politics at play.  Vice President Biden, members of the Congressional Black Caucus and dozens of Democrats won’t be attending the address because of a planed boycott. The reason, Netanyahu’s planed speech was made without consulting the White House. Netanyahu accepted (R) Speaker John Boehner’s invitation to address a Joint Session of Congress.  The leader of our greatest ally nation in the Middle East will also not be meeting with President Obama at the White House during the visit.

I for one realize that there are threats to world peace happening on a daily basis and the best we can except from our elected politicians is a Boycott?
