From Yesterday, those people who are making a difference

Yesterday morning, having nothing else to occupy their precious time, 29 activists stopped the morning’s commute for people traveling into Boston.  Route 93 from both the North and the South were blocked at two different locations. The inconvenience caused a ten mile backup for traffic coming up from the south and affected tens of thousands of drivers.  The traffic backup coming down from the North was estimated at under five miles.

The protesters stopped traffic on I-93 northbound by chaining themselves to 1,200-pound barrels filled with concrete.  All travel lanes and the HOV lanes were closed after 7:00, and the whole protest wasn’t completely cleared until around 10:00 A.M. The protest prevented an untold number of people from getting to work on the busiest highway traveling into Boston, it also interfered with emergency vehicles and at least one ambulance transporting a patient with serious injuries en route to Boston City Hospital. It had to be diverted to a Brockton hospital.

The Boston contingent from the organization "Black Lives Matter" was responsible for the shutdown. In a press release issued by the group, they stated it was “to confront white complacency in the systemic oppression of black people in Boston.”

Based on multiple news organizations that have reported live while the protest was unfolding, it seems that these self righteous lost souls, who chained their arms together inside the barrel, have caused more harm than good to their cause as far as symphony goes.
A reporter on the scene stated that 95 percent of the traffic that was able to get by when the police removed the protesters from the interstate and onto the shoulder were shouting obscenities and giving them the finger. They seemed to be very outspoken with their displeasure because of the massive gridlock.
