It is a state holiday observed in both Massachusetts and Maine; many people will flock to the city of Boston to take part in the festivities. Boston locals and tourist will have ample opportunity to celebrate Patriots’ Day with the main event being the Boston Marathon. It is where tourist, locals and hordes of college students from Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, and many of the other universities from the area start lining up at 6am along the race route to loudly cheer on the runners. Later, the Boston Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park and the surrounding bars around Fenway Park will be packed with Red Sox fans, marathon runners, and other rowdy celebrants having fun way past the game’s conclusion.
For those that would like to see a less boisterous experience, Patriots' Day Celebration's are also held in Lexington Massachusetts, a reenactment of the Battle of Lexington will also be held starting at 5:30 a.m.
Marathon bandits will be missed this year
