A major Nor'easter threatens to shut down travel due to heavy snow and strong winds from Washington, D.C., to New York City and Boston tomorrow. Weather forecasters on Sunday put the U.S. East Coast on a blizzard watch, warning some 50 million people of potential severe snowfall and wind blasts in some areas from Monday night into Wednesday. It is also possible that the band of burying snow will have amounts that will vary from 12 to 18 inches in certain locations.
Making matters worse, as the storm intensifies; winds will ramp up along the coast and expand inland. Wind gusts can frequently top 40 mph at the height of the storm, which will create blizzard conditions, but could break tree limbs and threaten the region with sporadic power outages.
I’m also going to Blame Putin for this one and all the other crazy weather that we’ve had during this winter season. Because there is no doubt in my mind he’s the direct reason. How else can you explain all this upheaval and turmoil in the atmosphere. After all, if there is one thing we don’t need any more of this year – its snowflakes.
