Kevin Edson, is now being held on $100,000 bail and has been given a clean bed to rest up while he spends a little time at the Bridgewater State Hospital undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. The self-proclaimed performance artist was arrested Tuesday night after a bizarre stunt in which he left two bags containing rice cookers at the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street.
The Boston Police Department arrested Edson after he apparently pulled off the stunt because he wanted "exposure." Video shows him walking barefoot in pouring rain while wearing a long black veil, and then leaving the two backpacks. The bags had to be detonated by police. Witnesses said Edson was screaming "Boston strong" before leaving the bags, forcing an evacuation of the area.
