Twenty states have now passed legislation to allow the medical use of marijuana. Sixteen states have decriminalized possession of small amounts and two states have approved the recreational use and sale at this time (Colorado and Washington). It’s ironic that their football teams will also play in the Super Bowl (Stoner Bowl) this year and the marketing campaign celebrating the coincidence, sales of clothing and accessories are well underway.
Right now there are nine states that have introduced legislation to legalize recreational use of marijuana, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Vermont.
Alaska, Maryland, Rhode Island and Wisconsin are expected to introduce similar new legislation very soon.
