Skowhegan River Fest                                                      Wednesday-Saturday       Skowhegan Me 
Designed to showcase life on the Kennebec River, River Fest is Skowhegan's annual multi-day celebration of recreation, live music and lots of fun.

First Fridays                                                                                                        Friday       Putnam Ct
As always, First Friday’s event will feature great live entertainment.  You can stroll along the streets, take in the sights and sounds and discover why Putnam is the hub for arts & culture in Northeast Connecticut. A variety of events including live music and art vendors will line the streets offering fun and interactive art projects, and stimulating events.
 
Festival of Fools                                                                              Friday-Sunday       Burlington Vt
Burlington’s  annual Festival of Fools, is a free, all ages street performance festival overtaking downtown The Festival of Fools features the best international street performers from around the globe and transforms the downtown district into a world of foolish fun.
Four stages (also known as pitches) on Church Street Marketplace, City Hall Park, Red Square and Vermont Comedy Club will feature three full days of acrobatic feats, circus arts, quirky comedy, diverse music and other surprises. More than 100 performances will entertain an estimated 100,000 visitors and residents throughout the weekend–making it one of New England’s largest festivals and an internationally recognized festival celebrating street performance.


Free Fun Friday's                                                                     Friday    Throughout Massachusetts 
Each Friday; The Highland Street Foundation will sponsor free admission to Museums and other cultural and fun destinations throughout Massachusetts. This program is open again this year to all Ma. residents thanks to this very generous family foundation.



The Salem Maritime Festival                                                    Saturday and Sunday       Salem Ma
Hosted by Salem Maritime National Historic Site in cooperation with Essex Heritage and Eastern National, the Salem Maritime Festival features live music and dance, harbor cruises, interactive programs, arts, crafts, and more! One of the most popular features of the festival are the free harbor cruises (passengers chosen through a lottery system). All vessels depart and return to Central Wharf, except When and If, which returns to it's dock on Blaney Street. This year, the free harbor cruises will take place on both Saturday and Sunday!


With summer now in full stride, There is no place like New England and its abundance of annual country fairs! This week the fairs are beginning to increase on the amount of them that are open on a weekly basis.  We’re very fortunate that from early summer to late fall there are a bunch of fairs taking place every week all through the North East. From the largest, to the smallest local fairs, you can find a complete list of events here on the Eat, Drink and be Merry  page of this web site
 
There are also many Cities and Towns that offer free weekly live music shows with a wide variety of different musical styles available. You can also find a lot of car shows in many areas here on the web site as well.  Those event's can be found on the Good Diggin Free Weekly Town Concert  listings or the Car Show page.
