Each Wednesday, we will again try to list some of the free events that are available to do on a weekly basis.  This weeks posting of, “Fun Freebies in New England” is the first for this season. The weather is finally starting to get right and a lot of good things are just getting under way.  Here are a few of the events that you can look forward to this week.

Saturday ........Waterfire ......Providence RI
This will be the opening night for the 2015 season. Basin lighting will take place. It will be a smaller version rather than the full eighty bonfires along the river in downtown Providence.

Without a doubt, your senses will be captivated by the flames, the aromas of the burning wood and music from around the world.   WaterFire has been enjoyed by millions of visitors since its flames were first  lit in 1994.  This is a must see event in everyone's life, It is free but donations are what keep it going.

The 2015
Great New England Air Show will be held this weekend at Westover AFB.  The Blue Angels Air Demonstration Team will be headlining the show this year. Also making appearance at the show are the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds demonstration teams, the Army Golden Knights and the Geico Skytypers. This will be the first air show at Westover in three years and promises to be one of the best.

Saturday Windsor Shad Derby Parade & Festival................................................................Windsor CT

If the crowds aren’t for you and you have a Green Thumb. The weekend after Mothers Day, in most towns throughout New England, is the time when the local garden clubs of the towns will be holding their annual plant sale. Yes there were plant sales held last week, but as a rule, this Saturday will be the big sale day. It’s now getting towards the end of the Spring Planting season, and there will be bargains to be had. From organically grown and heirloom vegetable transplants, colorful annuals, fragrant herbs, hanging baskets, and specialty perennials, there will be something out there for everyone.  "Good Diggin"
