I wonder what those older hard core base of voters, or the union members who started out as working Democrats see when they look at their party today.

Geoff Diehl Wins Boston Police Union Support in Race Against Fauxcahontas
Republican challenger to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Geoff Diehl, has won the support of the Boston Police union in another blow to the Democratic Party’s long-held coalition support from working-class unions.
This week, the Boston Police Patrolmen Association (BPPA) endorsed Diehl in his U.S. Senate race against Warren.
“The choice is very clear,” said BPPA President Mike Leary said in the announcement. “We have an advocate who will fight for Boston police personnel as opposed to someone who undermines our efforts to keep neighborhoods safe. Geoff Diehl is our candidate for U.S. Senate.”
The Boston Police union has 2,000 law enforcement members and is the third largest police force in the New England area. Diehl also recently won the support of the Worcester police union.

The US now ranks 27th in the world for its levels of healthcare and education, according to a new study. The countries with the most significant improvements in education and healthcare — namely, Turkey, China, and Brazil — also saw quicker GDP growth on a per capita basis. This leads the study to conclude that education and healthcare investments could be tied to a country's economic performance, and improvements in these areas could lead to faster economic growth.

Health officials on Friday reported a typhus outbreak in Los Angeles County and say it has reached "epidemic levels" in the city of Pasadena. The official source of the outbreak is said to be fleas from domestic and wild animals.
Some experts, however, say the true culprit is the inhumane conditions the county's expanding homeless population lives in. MORE
