Having spent many years working in the travel industry, I can attest that the days leading up to a Holiday are some of the most tiring for customer service workers.
With the sheer volume of people traveling, and the handling of connections, they likely don't have the time or the interest to be playing around with small issue that the public has when there are actual major problems happening hourly all around them.
This was very evident last week when a passenger became triggered after He/She was 'misgendered' and started creating a public disturbance. After the customer started looking to become a victim, by bullying the staff, a Delta airlines employee decided he was not going to participate in that game of fantasy.
I found the employees response was rather powerful. Reminded me of a tire that springs a leak, all you can hear is the boisterous air spewing out and then….. silence.
