Christmas time is always a wonderful time of the year. Then Christmas time ends and you’re stuck with a tree that you have mounted in your living room. When you finally get around to chucking that needle dropping pain in the ass – leftover out onto the curb….. just wait a minute and think about the possibility of fashioning it into a weapon instead.  Because what the hell, you can never not have enough stuff!

 The Quadrantid meteor show will begin on Sunday night and peak in the early morning hours of Monday morning. The peak will occur just after 3 a.m. Monday and continue right up to first light. The Quadrantid meteor shower is much shorter than most meteor showers – it only lasts a few hours. During its peak, 60 to as many as 200 meteors can be seen per hour under perfect conditions.

With that said, the Quadrantids will be one of the top meteor showers of the year—and certainly it’s a great show to catch if you can. This shower has the potential to be one of the biggest of the year as compared to the Geminids or Perseids (which have just a fraction of the Quadrantids numbers.) The Quadrantids can also be one of the hardest meteor showers of the year to spot. The problem is time. While most meteor showers have a few days worth of peak activity, the Quadrantids peak will be over in just a few short hours. If the weather is not in our favor, we will miss this very small window, and were out of luck until next year.
