There's a good reason to brave the night elements this week: There is a big meteor shower that is now underway, and it is should be one of the best and brightest of the year.
The Geminids Meteors have been streaking across the night sky since Dec. 4, and will continue until December 17th. The big show in the night skies will peak in the early morning hours of Dec. 14.
If the skies are clear, between midnight and 3 a.m. you could see a bunch of them, and it's predicted that on Monday night, it's possible to see one shooting star per minute.
