Tonight, there is a bit of euphoria in the house with the win by Germany over Argentina for the World Cup title. It was a great game and with the one goal by Mario Goetze in extra time to give Germany a 1-0 victory, I can safely say that “alles gut heute abend in mein haus” or, when the Frau is happy, I am happy.

The World Cup reaches its conclusion when Germany and Argentina go head-to-head in Rio de Janeiro today. The munchies at our house are ready in the fridge and the Ribs will be heading to the smoker very shortly. Then it’s just a waiting game till game time at 3pm. Helene is the real soccer fan in the house, so for her, today is as big as it gets for sports.
Germany, last claimed the title in 1990 in a 1-0 win against Argentina - and the German fans are desperately hoping for a repeat of that outcome today. I do believe that today’s game will be a very good game because Argentina has yet to surrender a goal in the knockout stage and boasts one of the world's best players in Lionel Messi. Have a good one today.
