I do enjoy driving on the road and consider myself very good at what I do, but there are a few things that really do irritate me. So today, I feel the need to give a couple safe driving lessons on good driving practices. Here are a few things that you should never do while driving.
Tailgating - If I see someone behind me, I know that they are in a hurry. I always make every effort I can to allow them the ability to pass. There have been many times that on smaller roads, I have even pulled over onto the shoulder when it was safe to do so. But if I see those headlights start flashing behind me, I have been known to gradually slow down until the aggressive drivers head starts to explode.
Swerving - I know that texting while driving is important. So when I see a car that is swerving all over the road as a result of that all important text, I love to call 911 and report a drunk driver. It is done without any reservations.
Avoiding a turn signal - I'm guessing everyone but me must know that the driver that doesn’t use them makes the same turn at the same time and place every day. The screeching of my tires is a reminder that I forgot the schedule.
Pacing - I don't think there's many cars left on the road today that do not have cruise control. When I first get on the Highway, I get up to the speed I’m going to drive and set the cruise control. I find it extremely frustrating, when I come up on a slower vehicle and decide to pass it only to see that the then want to accelerate. If a person decides to speed up and not allow me to pass, I love to turn on my turn signal and start a lane change. Depending on the circumstances, I have been known to make people want to find the next exit to change their underwear.
Remember, Drive Safe and Have a Great Day
