The Season is Here
You may have been given some Venison this year by a friend who was fortunate enough to have harvested a deer. Venison, a/k/a deer meat, may or may not be the most popular game meat, but it is definitely the most abused.
I can’t tell you how many people I have served venison to who have had to overcome some prior bad experience with it. “Ew, it’s so tough. It tastes like liver.” Yes, if you overcook it and handle the meat poorly when you kill the animal it will be poor fare at the table.
Nevertheless, any deer, elk, caribou, etc. can be made into great table fare, if you know what to do with it. Below are some great venison recipes, grouped by style of cooking or cut of meat.

If you’re going to be flying American Airlines during Christmas week, you may be in Trouble:
A potential travel disaster is waiting to happen and could wreck havoc for thousands of flyers during the Holiday. A possible travel nightmare was caused by a computer glitch for American Airlines that could cause many to miss the holidays with their family and loved ones.
Thousands of American Airlines flights could be grounded during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. A computer malfunction affects pilots’ bid for vacation time and caused a scheduling situation that left over 15,000 flights without pilots. The scheduling error gave time off to too many cockpit crew members during the last two weeks if December.
Last week, management disclosed a failure within the pilot schedule bidding system,” the Allied Pilots Association said in a statement. “As a result, thousands of flights currently do not have pilots assigned to fly them during the upcoming critical holiday period.” ,” American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller said on Wednesday. American Airlines is already attempting to fix the situation before it becomes a gargantuan P.R. nightmare.
The worldwide airline may attempt to bribe pilots to work by promising extra pay. American Airlines sent an email to employees offering one-and-a-half times their normal rate of pay to entice them to work, which is the maximum allowed in their contract.

Some Things Go Without Saying

When it comes to your political leanings, you are what you drive, according to a new study that says election results can be predicted by the make and models of cars spotted in a particular community.

When sedans outnumbered pickup trucks, there was an 88 percent chance the city would vote Democratic.
In areas with more pickup trucks, the odds switched to 82 percent in favor of Republicans, the researchers concluded.

China Bans Reincarnation Without Government Permission

In an attempt to erode the power of Tibet's Dalai Lama, China has banned Buddhist monks from reincarnating without government permission. The search for a reincarnation is a mystical process involving clues left by the deceased and visions among leading monks on where to look. The current Dalai Lama, the fourteenth of the line, was identified in 1937 when monks came to his village.
It is the latest in a series of measures by the Communist authorities to tighten their grip over Tibet more than 50 years after China invaded the small Himalayan country.

Doctors are well aware that many heart patients hold back from sexual activity, fearing they'll risk sudden death or a heart attack. It’s an anxiety reinforced by movies and TV like "Something's Gotta Give," "Downton Abbey" and "Mad Men".
But the chance of sex triggering a cardiac arrest in older men and women is exceedingly rare, according to the first study to examine the link between sudden death and sex.
