I have a  three day weekend coming up so when the wheels stop turning today, it's going to be just fine. I'm hoping for some feathers, fish and fun. Hope your weekend has some fun as well. In the interest of keeping with the season, this is one hell of a story.

Vampire Grave" in Bulgaria Holds a Skeleton With a Stake Through Its Heart.
Archeologists in Bulgaria haved uncovered a 13th century staked “vampire” at Perperikon, an ancient Thracian site in the south of the country, Archaeology reports. The remains once belonged to a man who was likely in his 40s. An iron rod had been hammered through his chest “to keep the corpse from rising from the dead and disturbing the living,” Archaeology continues, and his left leg had also been removed and placed beside the corpse.  More

"Happiness is a journey, not a destination. For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one."

With the November midterm elections happening next week, it’s still unclear the extent to which Republicans’ advantage in voter engagement will translate into more actual House and Senate seats.  But I will go out on a limb and make a couple of predictions, this year there will be fewer people voting than did in 2012. It looks like the Democrats are likely to suffer the consequences based on a lot of things that have not been going well in the country, and around the world.

Both Democrats and Republicans have ramped up their get-out-the-vote efforts with the election, now so close. The problem is that midterm elections are historically low. Voter turnout drops, and right now there is not a lot of happiness with the people in the country towards most incumbent politicians.

The Political parties will argue that their candidate is the one best suited for one of the offices and you should fall in step with vote the “party line”. I believe that there have been a lot of terrible lawmakers elected from both parties recently, and they have not served the American people well. That’s not to say that they are all bad, but there are more than enough bad ones that fall into that category.

I Hope you get the chance to vote and have your voice be counted this year. I will be voting with the knowledge and understanding of what each local and national candidate that I choose stands for,  what each referendum ballots mean before I ever hit the polls. I will not be  falling  into a political party’s lockstep. Because from what I have seen lately, both parties are pretty bad and it has not been working well for “We the People”

I heard today that Katy Perry turned thirty. It’s not a bad age in fact, I remember those good old days with a smile. But enough about me, here is to that beautiful and talented woman, so said by a cue tip.
On the ride home tonight from the woods, I enjoyed some good music that kept the head moving and volume up. Have a listen and I hope does the same for you.

What’s the difference between a lager and a ale?

For the average beer drinker, the difference between an ale and a lager comes down to how the beer looks, smells, and tastes. Ales tend to be fruity-estery, while lagers are clean-tasting and frequently described as "crisp." But to a brewer, the difference is more fundamental than that. It's not color, or flavor, or aroma, or hop/grain/malt varietals or even water hardness that separates a lager from an ale.   More

Raymond Burse, had been the president of Kentucky State in the 1980s and then went on to have a successful business career with GE until his retirement in 2012. He again returned to head the university on July 1, after the KSU Board of Regents asked him to serve as an interim replacement for the outgoing President, who retired in June.

One of the first things he did was to find out who was making the least amount of money working at the University and help them out. He took notice of the 24 employees that were making the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour and gave them a pay increase that brought them up to $10.25 an hour. To accomplish this, he reduced his own annual salary of $349,869 by more than $90,000.

It was about doing something that would be meaningful to employees. I'm just trying to do well in this world by treating people right. That's what it's all about said the man who once worked minimum-wage jobs himself and has never forgotten his roots.

We wish there were more like you Mr. Burse...
