How many insults are Black voters supposed to take from Joe Biden?
Last week, at a convention for Black and Hispanic journalists, a Black reporter asked Joe Biden whether he has taken a cognitive test.
This was Biden’s response: “No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test? Come on, man! That’s like saying you, before you got in this program, you’re taking a test whether you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think, huh? Are you a junkie?”
Had that answer come from President Trump it would have been blasted, virtually nonstop, as blatantly racist. But the Biden campaign was basically allowed to brush off the query as “preposterous” rather than address the appropriateness of the words spoken by Trump’s Democratic challenger. Besides the matter of relatively low-key media coverage of Biden’s over-wrought objections to a perfectly valid question posed to a 77-year-old presidential candidate, it raises another serious political issue: How many more insults will Black voters take from Biden in the interest of defeating Trump?

Black Lives Matter Holds Rally Supporting Those Arrested For Looting In Chicago…
Members of Black Lives Matter held a solidarity rally on Monday night with the more than 100 individuals who were arrested after a night of looting and unrest in Chicago.
The rally was held at the South Loop police station where organizers say those individuals are currently being held in custody.
“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, said. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”

Aftermath of looting in downtown Chicago:
13 cops injured, 2 people shot, more than 100 arrests, Magic Mile is trashed.
Hundreds of people swept through the Magnificent Mile and other parts of downtown Chicago early Monday, smashing windows, looting stores, confronting police and at one point exchanging gunfire with officers, authorities said.
Chicago officials raised bridges and suspended some train and bus service Monday morning after unrest and looting caused widespread damage in the city’s downtown Sunday night.

Authorities in Minneapolis sent out a letter to residents telling them to ‘prepare’ to be robbed and to obey criminals following a recent surge in robberies and carjackings.

The Mayflower II is Getting its Sea Legs before its journey home.
The replica of the original Mayflower ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620 briefly set sail off the shores of southern Rhode Island on Thursday.
The vessel, which is in the midst of two-week-long sea trials, sailed alongside the United States Coast Guard Cutter Barque Eagle, which is used to train cadets. The Mayflower II is out in the deeper waters of Block Island Sound.
