New Zealand's Failed Gun Control Scheme
Once again, responding to a horrendous crime by inflicting knee-jerk, authoritarian restrictions on innocent people proves to be an ineffective means of convincing people to obey. Specifically, New Zealand's government—which also stepped up censorship and domestic surveillance after bloody attacks on two Christchurch mosques earlier this year—is running into stiff resistance to new gun rules from firearms owners who are slow to surrender now-prohibited weapons and will probably never turn them in.

Is there anything worse than busy-bodies harassing kids with lemonade or drink stands?
An 11-year-old boy was trying to earn an honest buck by selling some ice cold beer. He was holding a sign that said “ICE COLD BEER.” The boy whose name is  “Seth set up his money making business outside of his parents’ house. However, not everything is what it seems.
Young Seth is already a showing the sign of being a gifted salesman. His sign that said “ICE COLD BEER,” also had the word “root” written in very small print on the sign. So the sign actually read: “ICE COLD root BEER.”
Naturally there was a nosey neighbor that didn’t see the root beer part of the sign and called the police. When the cops arrived,  they saw that Seth was selling just ice cold root beer.
The Brigham Ut Police Department shared the photo of Seth to their Facebook page and it quickly went viral.  More

LOS ANGELES – Federal racketeering, murder and other charges were filed against 22 suspected MS-13 gang members who law enforcement officials believe are linked to a series of grisly killings involving baseball bats, machetes and other tools of "medieval-style" violence, authorities said Tuesday.
Nineteen of those indicted are considered illegal immigrants, and most of the group's members arrived in the U.S. in the past four years from Central America. All but two are under the age of 24, Nicola Hanna, the U.S. Attorney for Los Angeles, announced at a news conference. Most, he added, participated in the "killing spree."

You Should Know, You Will Be Be Labeled
Chris Pratt is facing criticism over a T-shirt he was pictured wearing featuring a controversial symbol. The Marvel star’s top shows the American flag with a coiled snake over the top and a message underneath which reads “Don’t Tread On Me.”
The writing and snake combo on its own is depicted on the Gadsden flag; a symbol created by Christopher Gadsden, a Charleston-born brigadier general in the Continental Army.
Although the symbol has a non-racial history – it is has been used by the U.S. men’s soccer team and Metallica – over the years it has also been adopted by political groups like the Tea Party and some Libertarian groups, as well as gun-toting supporters of the Second Amendment. It has therefore also become a symbol of more conservative and far right individuals

Cape Cod has now become one the world’s epicenters of great white shark activity.   With more than 38 great white sharks spotted around the outer beaches of the Cape between the 4th of July and the 11th  just this year, there’s a national attention on how the region is dealing with the dangers in the water this summer. There have also been an additional 13 Shark sightings off the beaches of the Cape between Monday and Tuesday.  These ocean predators are here for one thing only, to hunt and eat seals.  With the huge influx of seals that we have seen over the last decade now living along the coast, it looks like they are here to stay.
