Saturday: Snow to rain in Southern New England, a wintry mix of snow to the north as the system moves off the coast by sunset. Snowfall totals could reach at least a half a foot into the higher elevations of the Berkshires, VT, and NH.  Remember, Spring is here.

Remember the Shaggs?
From 1968-1973, the three teenage Wiggin sisters, guided by a domineering father, played their strange music at New Hampshire ballrooms and recorded a single album. The Philosophy of the World LP goes for over $500 today, but the intervening decades have not been kind to the Wiggins. Meet the Shaggs

At the age of 20, Christopher Knight parked his car on a remote trail in Maine and walked away Into the Woods . He had no plan. He had no tools. And he survived alone for 27 years.

Canadian folk singer killed by coyotes, park official says
A rising Canadian folk singer was killed by coyotes this week in a national park in Nova Scotia, a park spokesman said Thursday. There was a time when most people who were engaging in recreational activity in wilderness areas that are inhabited by large predators would be armed. Not so much of that goes on today.

Cheerios' attempt to save bees has Backfired Massively

Cheerios cereal brand is under fire for sending out billions of potentially disease-spreading seeds in an attempt to help save bees from extinction. The brand recently announced that it would mail out free wildflower seeds as part of its "Save the Bees" campaign. The seeds, once planted, were meant to provide more nectar for the declining bee population.

There's one problem with Cheerios' charitable effort, however: some of the wildflower species included in the packet of seeds can do serious damage to various ecosystems across the US, reports Lifehacker.

Substitute teacher accused of drinking box of wine in front of students

And this Teacher was Way beyond the Rest of the class
A middle school teacher in Georgia earns around $51,000 yearly, on average. Not too bad, and if you there is a side job to offset their income when time allows it, you can do pretty well financially –whether it be camp counseling, tutoring, or drug and firearm distribution.
Georgia deputies raided a middle school teacher’s home and seized guns and $6 million in cocaine and heroin, according to the
NY Post.

Inappropriate Behavior at the Seniors Friday Bingo
Banging on doors…. Yelling… threatening to egg cars. A Frat house?,  Nope, just the good folks at the Holyoke Senior Center.  It seems the Friday bingo mindset infects people who otherwise behave rationally on the other days of the week, at least according to one official.
