Chair-Hurling Brawl Erupts In Seafood Restaurant
An out-of-control brawl was caught on video last week at a restaurant in the Bronx. Chairs were flying in this crazy all-out brawl involving nearly 40 customers. It was all caught on cellphone video in the Seafood City restaurant on City Island. It’s just amazing how some folks choose to entertain themselves on a dinner night out.

Arizona’s version of Amerika, pass a New Draconian Law “Guilt by Association”
Claiming people are being paid to riot, Republican state senators voted Wednesday to give police new power. Police would be granted the power to arrest protesters on the assumption alone that the protest may devolve into a riot — even if it hasn’t. But that isn’t even the worse part of it; authorities would be free to seize their assets if the new Arizona bill becomes law.

The Democrats have taken “Another Hard-Left Turn”, and they seem as eager as ever to continue the move in that direction. Is it the End of the Democratic Party As We Know It?

How the Blue Model Fails.
For a century, this conservative Protestant state, the "Land of Steady Habits," was a state of tough Yankee self-reliance and no faith in or expectations from government of any sort. It had no income tax until recent years (damn that Republican jerk Gov. Lowell Weicker who put in the tax and fled the state to avoid his taxes as soon as he was out of office).

Walmart sued for allegedly selling Craft Beer that isn't Craft Beer
Walmart announced last year that it had begun selling its own line of craft beers, claiming it was ”working in ‘collaboration’ with Trouble Brewing to brew four styles of craft beer. Problem is that “Trouble Brewing” doesn’t actually exist. According to government filings, the beer is made by WX Brands from a location in Costa Rica, where a company named “Genesee Brewing” makes beer identified as “cheap college-party staples.”

If you record your crime and that video falls into the hands of the police it will be extremely difficult to deny the charges and prove your innocence. The same can be said for walking away from a crime in the snow. In Rhode Island, the

The Twitter Battle between Boston’s Sam Adams Brewing Company and Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing Company was one of the best bets going into Super Bowl Game. After all, who cares about what the respected Governors of each states individual Bets were!

Boston Clam chowder versus Brunswick Stew, Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes versus Chocolate-Covered Blueberries, or the Apple Pie from an orchard in Northern Georgia against Apple Cider Doughnuts, really?

The Bet between the two brewers was the one that intrigued me. Atlanta-based beer company Sweetwater Brewery made a bet with iconic Boston-based brewery, Sam Adams, over the Super Bowl. The stakes: the losing brewery would have to create a beer honoring the winning team, complete with naming rights and commemorative can. I don't think it was that far of an exaggeration to say that this was the most high-stakes Super Bowl bet ever placed by a company.

SweetWater made good on the bet a few days ago. The commemorative limited edition SB51 Patriot Pale Ale was released last week. It was described as “a soul-crushing pale ale that will leave you feeling deflated.”

The problem is, there were only 100 of the commemorative cans released. When I heard the news, it had me thinking that SweetWater was a lot like the Falcons, not thinking about the end game. I’m sure that they missed out on the huge potential. Producing and marketing a large run of that beer to all the Patriots Fans up here in NE.

I still will give some credit to Sweetwater for doing a good job with their end of the bet, and producing a really nice collectable empty can. I say empty can because the only chance I have of ever seeing one in life, it will surly be empty.

Maple Sugar, from Sap to Syrup
The Maple Trees around New England should soon begin to flow. When the daily temperatures start the annual swing that drops below freezing at night, and rises above freezing during the day, the liquid gold will start to fill the lines. For a little more precise information on the process, a good read can be found here from The View from Fish in a Barrel Pond

A Secret of Many Urban 20-Somethings
Moving into adulthood has never been easy, but America’s rapidly changing labor market is making it harder to find economic security at a young age. Skilled work is increasingly concentrated in high-rent metropolitan areas, so more young people are tapping into their parents’ bank accounts. Almost half of people in their early 20s parents help them pay the rent.

Realizing That it was a Very Dumb Decision, Playboy Magazine Brings Back Nudity
The move comes four months after Cooper Hefner, the son of founder Hugh Hefner and an outspoken critic of the move to ban nude models, was installed as the chief creative officer last October.
