The Real Question Should Be: Safe Communities For Whom?
Thanks to the sanctuary city policies in effect now throughout the country, undocumented individuals who are currently facing charges such as murder, sex crimes and drug trafficking are free to wander the streets.

In 2019 Over 90% of Illegal Aliens Arrested in U.S. Had Criminal Convictions, Pending Charges
More than 90% of illegal immigrants arrested by federal agents in the United States last year had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, including 56,000 assaults and thousands of sex crimes, robberies, homicides and kidnappings. Many had “extensive criminal histories with multiple convictions,” according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) year-end report. The 123,128 illegal aliens arrested by the agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in 2019 had 489,063 criminal convictions and pending charges, representing an average of four crimes per alien, highlighting the “recidivist nature” of the arrested aliens, the agency writes, noting that sanctuary cities nationwide greatly impeded its public safety efforts.

As ICE has repeatedly made clear, when local jurisdictions refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement, they have betrayed their duty to protect the safety of the public. Here is another story from last week that reinforces that fact.

ICE agents were able to apprehend an illegal alien who was allegedly involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident in New York. Mexican national Jorge Flores-Villalba was arrested by local police after allegedly striking a New York mother with his vehicle and driving off on Christmas Eve, but was then quickly released.

Where will Tom Brady play in 2020?
Is Tom Brady and the Patriots’ 18 year reign over the NFL finally over? It began during a blizzard on January 19, 2002. The Snow bowl was played against the Oakland Raiders. Last night it may have ended on a cold rainy night with another week in which he threw a pick-six.  This time it was against the Tennessee Titans.

The reports have been widespread. The Patriots’ have been unwilling to commit to a multiyear deal with the 42 year old Brady. His contract with the Patriots is now over and assuming that he and the Patriots don't agree to another extension before March 18 — he will become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his Hall of Fame career. Brady has repeatedly said he hopes to play until he is 45 and there is a real possibility that the six-time Super Bowl champ will play on another NFL team next season.

The defense has carried the team this year after starting the season with an 8-0 record.  But for most of the season, Brady and the Patriots' offense have struggled and Tom has earned his worst QB rating since 2002. He has also played with an offense that has been less than stellar for the entire season.

Now, after nearly two decades we can only guess, is the Patriots’ dynasty finally over? The Patriots now enter the offseason a lot earlier than they are accustomed to, and with a major question about the future of Brady looming over them. At this point only time will tell.
