Helene and I went to “The Spot” again yesterday with a friend (Grace) who is also a forager. We were all happy; to be able to experience a good day of picking and not having the rain put a damper on our adventure.
For the first time ever, we also encountered a new person who was out there on Fiddlehead Island. Once seen as a pastime for the tree huggers, foraging is having a new renaissance. People like the idea of finding their own healthy food and getting closer to nature.
By the looks of the growth this year, we should be able to get one more weekend in before the season is finished around here.
