Those Crazy People Who Run from the Police
When people run from the police, their usually wanted for a serious crime. They don’t care about putting their life on the line, not to mention the lives of all the other innocent people on the road. It pretty much means that Law Enforcement is dealing with a Dirt Bag who likely has no regard for anyone but themselves. This concern has the majority of police departments choosing not to engage in high-speed pursuits, fearing the pursuit could cause a serious, if not a fatal outcome.

That's not the case in Arkansas, where the police have a policy of never backing off of a pursuit, regardless of the speeds their traveling at. They have also achieved legendary status of their pursuits and how they capture fleeing suspects. Their preferred method is to initiate a PIT maneuver.

M
any of the states that do perform this maneuver, limit their cops to using it at speeds of 55mph or under. While Arkansas cops can go for it whenever, even at speeds of 100 mph. This is not only dangerous for the public, but also for the police themselves since both vehicles can behave in a very unpredictable way.

There are countless dash cam video examples of these chases not working out well for either party. Many of the videos show both vehicles losing control at the same time.

With that said, today's rambling has no empathy for the Dirt Bag fleeing suspects because, they inherently show no concern for the public. It does bring up the discussion on whether law enforcement should be allowed to have a Front Fired Grill Missile on their vehicles.

This feature could minimize those dangerous and lengthy pursuits. Police would be able to launch a missile strike on the fleeing vehicle and end the pursuit if the speeds exceed a certain MPH. OK, that may be a little extreme but I'm sure it would make for some interesting videos.

But back to the boys in Arkansas. Law enforcement in that state have created a YouTube page of their legendary High-Speed chases. It’s called WhenPigsFly420.

After watching some of their videos on the link below, you be the judge of the practicality of the PIT Maneuver, or a Front Fired Grill Missile on Arkansas State Police cruisers. After all, they're only dealing with a Dirt Bag who has no interest in the public safety of others. You can't say call off the police chase because apparently, with those Good Ol Boys, that's not an option. WhenPigsFly420 - YouTube

The opinion expressed here are the authors and is likely a spinoff of watching to many Star War movies.
