I'm back safely from the wilds of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and this years adventures at the hunting camp. There was snow on the ground all week with an added gift of night time temps that were in the single digits. Throw in the snow showers that were falling during the week and I would have to say it was colder this year than we have seen it in a long while. There were sightings of Moose, Bear, Deer and plenty of the Ruffled Grouse seen during the week. The evenings always had plenty of good food, some drink, adventures and stories that were enjoyed by all. Don got the big deer this year, it was an eight pointer that came in field dressed at 207 lbs.
I'm very happy to have been able to have made the trip this year, especially after dealing with a torn quadricep muscle in my left leg that has sidelined me from driving for the last month. With a little luck, I will be cleared to go back to work driving the truck today and hopefully be able to experience another adventure with better walking legs in the Northeast Kingdom next year.
