After months of depression freezing temperatures and plenty of darkness, today will be another positive first sign of hope. More people will again start to emerge from a self imposed state of hibernation.
Today will be the first day of the year; that the temperatures are expected to get up into the 70s. Soon we will be able to experience the beach, picnics, shorts, barbeques, summer skirts and lots of smiles.
We know that spring officially arrived on March 20, but the weather never agreed to cooperate with the calendar. Because the record breaking winter of nonstop cold and snow. In some areas, there is still snow on the ground. But it should all be gone very soon.
Today, we also have the Red Sox home opener at Fenway and the reality that spring is finally here. The weekend was fantastic with temps in the 60s and sunshine. I felt energized and motivated as I jumped on my spring to-do list and took on the world. I also noticed that the buds have started growing on the trees and I also saw some turkeys strutting in the fields. Yes the long wait is finally over!
