Portland, OR – A grand jury indicted the man Portland police identified as having attacked an elderly man during a violent protest downtown on June 29.
Gage Halupowski, 23, was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday and is facing charges of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault of a public safety officer, and interfering with a peace officer.
Halupowski was one of the black-masked antifa who were captured on video as they attacked an elderly man who walked through the area where they were marching. The Oregonian.

A new poll conducted by the Washington Post found that the clear majority of Mexicans think migrants should be deported back to their home countries.
The survey, which was conducted in partnership with Mexico’s Reforma newspaper, found that Mexicans are “deeply frustrated” with immigrants traveling through their country from Central America.
6 in 10 Mexicans say migrants are a burden on their country taking jobs that should belong to citizens, the poll found.

LOS ANGELES – Federal racketeering, murder and other charges were filed against 22 suspected MS-13 gang members who law enforcement officials believe are linked to a series of grisly killings involving baseball bats, machetes and other tools of "medieval-style" violence, authorities said Tuesday.
Nineteen of those indicted are considered illegal immigrants, and most of the group's members arrived in the U.S. in the past four years from Central America. All but two are under the age of 24, Nicola Hanna, the U.S. Attorney for Los Angeles, announced at a news conference. Most, he added, participated in the "killing spree."

Chris Pratt is facing criticism over a T-shirt he was pictured wearing featuring a controversial symbol. The Marvel star’s top shows the American flag with a coiled snake over the top and a message underneath which reads “Don’t Tread On Me.”
The writing and snake combo on its own is depicted on the Gadsden flag; a symbol created by Christopher Gadsden, a Charleston-born brigadier general in the Continental Army.
Although the symbol has a non-racial history – it is has been used by the U.S. men’s soccer team and Metallica – over the years it has also been adopted by political groups like the Tea Party and some Libertarian groups, as well as gun-toting supporters of the Second Amendment. It has therefore also become a symbol of more conservative and far right individuals
