The International Olympic Committee has made it their mission, when it comes to stopping athletes gaining an unfair advantage, of targeting doping. The have repeatably stated that the key considerations for banning doping was to protect the health of athletes from taking harmful substances, and to ensure competition being held is on a fair playing field.
The (IOC) also realize that audiences worldwide tune in to see the best athletes in the world, compete in a fair competition, and hopefully be able to celebrate by winning and fulfilling a lifelong dream. For many people like me, this year's Olympics are becoming meaningless, by allowing competitions that are now anything but fair.
Thursday, we saw a boxing match that…... forget all about any and all of previous doping scandals, was nothing even remotely close to a fair competition.
A man, who previously failed gender eligibility test, was able to compete as a woman in a boxing match, and then proceeded to give an ass whooping to the real woman he was competing against, because he could, and it was allowed. So much for that equal playing field and the health of the athletes.
