In the case of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, he died pleading for help as a police officer pinned him to the ground with his knee on his neck for seven minutes. His life was being squeezed out of him, in front of a crowd that was also pleading for his life.
Sometimes, a police officer’s actions are so grotesque, cruel, or mind-boggling that the benefit of the doubt no longer can be extended.
Sometimes, it isn’t a matter of “waiting for more information,” because no additional information will ever justify what the public has witnessed.
